Your Questions Answered

What is breastmilk jewelry?

Breastmilk jewelry is a piece created from your very own breast milk. Your milk is sterilized, preserved and mixed into a resin mixture to form your breast milk stone.

Can I change my order?

I start processing as soon as I receive your milk, so orders cannot be changed after the milk has shipped.

What will my stone be like?

Your breast milk stone is a solid piece. They will be durable and built to last under normal wear. Since this is a handmade piece they all are unique in color. As with all resin items, small bubbles may appear but I do my best to keep this minimal. Bubbles do no interfere with the quality of the piece. It is common for resin to yellow over time so I use a resin containing a UV stabilizer as well as an advanced additive called HALS (hindered amine light stabilizer) that interrupts the yellowing process before it can begin. Please note that resin is water resistant, but not waterproof. Do not submerge your piece in water. Keep jewelry away from harsh chemicals, essential oils, make-up and hair products. Do not swim or bathe with the jewelry on. Long and excessive exposure to water can discolor the pieces. I also advise you remove your jewelry before exercising or prior to bedtime. Perspiration and body oils can sometimes surface tarnish the piece. This will also protect the chain. When not wearing the piece, store in a dark place away from natural light. Do not store in direct sunlight or near excessive heat.

How long will my piece last?

The milk stones are not as hardy as a natural gemstone. They can last many years if taken care of. I recommend getting a new top coat put on your piece every year. I offer these on my website for $5.00

Most of my jewelry is sterling silver. Sterling Silver jewelry can last many lifetimes, they are made to be durable. Sterling Silver jewelry may tarnish in humidity and due to moisture. If this occurs you can polish with a sterling silver cloth or toothpaste and a white cloth.

Please note that any of my rose gold plated items will not stay rose gold. Rose gold plating is a thin layer of rose gold over sterling silver. Many people ask how long the plating will last, but it varies from person to person. Please note that my rose gold plated pieces cost the same as my sterling silver pieces for this reason. You are paying for sterling silver quality.
The amount of time plating lasts mainly depends on the amount of contact the jewelry has with the world. Plating on a ring will normally wear off much faster than plating on a pendant, because a ring constantly rubs against fingers and objects throughout the day. I am not responsible for any rose gold plating that wears off.

Yes, shipping in the U.S. is a flat rate of $6. For international orders, shipping will be calculated upon checkout.

Can I ship my order internationally?

I will hold onto the preserved milk for future orders indefinitely. I can get many pieces out of the amount I preserve. I do not have room to store bags of milk, so please only send the amount needed (half an ounce).

If you would like to place an order using previously preserved milk, please fill out this form HERE after you place the order.

10-12 weeks once the milk has been received.

Can I use more than one milk for my order?

FAQ: FAQ

The price of each piece or jewelry set only includes the preservation of one milk. If you would like multiple milks used in one piece, you can mix the milks together before shipment. If you want to order a jewelry set and have the earrings and necklace with different milks, it is a $15 charge per extra preserved milk. This money is used to cover the cost of the preservative I use.
